The Haanstra Family

Haanstra BV was founded in 1947 by the Haanstra family. From the Netherlands, our company grew into an international specialist in poultry exports. What started as a family business with a strong focus on quality and reliability is now a modern company that supplies hatching eggs and day-old chicks worldwide.

Although the day-to-day management is no longer in the hands of the family, the original values remain the foundation of our work. Care for animal welfare, long-term cooperation with partners and consistent quality are still key.

With over seventy years of experience, we combine tradition with modern techniques. Our customers benefit from constant deliveries, efficient export logistics and genetically high-quality breeding lines. This is how, just like in 1947, we are building sustainable relationships in the international poultry sector.

The Brain Foundation

At Haanstra BV, we value not only quality and reliability, but also social engagement. Due to personal circumstances, our company came into contact with the Brain Foundation — an organization that works for a healthy brain for everyone. Since then, we have been a proud and enduring representative of this foundation.

On behalf of the Brain Foundation, we sponsor various regional events to raise awareness and build awareness for the foundation's important work. In this way, we are happy to contribute to more attention and support for brain health, both within our own region and beyond.

The Food Bank

Haanstra BV works closely with the local Food Bank to reduce food waste and support the community. Every week, we deliver eggs there that do not meet export standards within our production hall, but are still fully suitable for consumption.

By making these eggs available to the Food Bank, we contribute to a better use of valuable foods and help families in the region. In this way, we combine social engagement with responsible business — a practical implementation of our vision of sustainability and care for people and animals.
